NAP Weblabel

In the Netherlands, RDW collects the mileage of nearly all cars to help prevent odometer fraud. NAP Weblabel is an online seal of approval given to cars with a clean (or logically explainable) mileage history. As an official RDW partner, DV automatically checks if a car is eligible for this seal and sends the NAP Weblabel to sites supporting the seal.

Adding NAP Weblabel automatically

Every car will automatically be checked if the following conditions are met:

  • The car is registered in the Netherlands
  • The Dutch license plate of the car is known
  • The mileage of the car is known
  • The vehicle is a passenger car, a van or a camper.
  • The vehicle is not marked as sold
  • The inventory management system does not supply the NAP Weblabel manually (see below)
  • The inventory management system has not opted out for automatic NAP Weblabel enrichment (either globally or for this specific car)

DV contacts RDW in a background process to retrieve the NAP Weblabel and store the result. This process can take a couple of minutes. The result can be retrieved by the inventory management system using feedback. There is also an event that triggers when the NAP Weblabel changes.

Supplying NAP Weblabel manually

The supplier of an inventory management system can choose to retrieve the NAP Weblabel themselves and supply the result to DV, along with the other data fields of the car.
Before Hexon is allowed to adopt the NAP Weblabel information supplied by the inventory management system, it needs to get a one-time approval from RDW.
