Options and accessories

Most objects have one or more options and accessories, like climate control on a passenger car. In the most basic form, an option is a small text denoting the option, but this can be expanded upon quite heavily. Here's a list of supported option properties:

  • Name (for example, "Climate control"). Multi-lingual
  • Description (for example, "Climate control system with automatic temperature control"). Multi-lingual
  • OEM option code
  • Group (for example, "Comfort"). Multi-lingual
  • Priority/importance
  • Price when new
  • Fitment (factory installed, dealer installed, aftermarket)
  • Associated media (pictures, videos)

DV also supports grouping options together into option packs, setting surcharges (i.e. adding optional aftermarket accessories) and aliases (see below).

Matching options

Since most sites allow a user to search for objects with specific options, DV automatically tries to match the supplied options and accessories to the searchable options on the sites. For example a car with "Electr. folding towbar" will be found if a user searches for "Towing hook". DV also handles implication, so a car with "Climate control" will be found when a user searches for "Air conditioning". You can expand on this by adding aliases yourself. If you would like to have "Mercedes-Benz MBUX" to imply "Apple CarPlay" you can do so.
